About the Talk
The presentation provides an overview of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), a cooperative effort among the states of Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont to cap and reduce CO2 emissions from the power sector. The RGGI states developed and utilize the CO2 Allowance Tracking System (COATS), an electronic platform used by the RGGI participating states to track and record data. The presentation will review the purpose and functionality of COATS and touch upon ongoing program review of RGGI. Opportunities for CMS PIs to engage and collaborate with RGGI will also be discussed.
