About the Talk

Latin America Land Use and Land Use Change sector is responsible for close to half of GHG emissions.  It is also key to food production, rural welfare and the future of natural capital.  The discussion will center on actions being taken today through Initiative 20x20 to shift the dynamics of land use in Latin America and the Caribbean, and convert the region on a large net carbon sink through reforestation, land restoration, landscape management and sustainable agriculture. The session will also discuss potential collaboration opportunities between WRI’s Initiative 20x20 and NASA researchers and programs.
